Don Thomas, Acupuncturist
Don Thomas received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland. Don has practiced Nursing for the past 22 years in the areas of Psychiatry and Substance Abuse with National Certification in the area of Mental Health nursing. His personal healing experience while receiving acupuncture treatment prompted him to pursue the path to become an acupuncture practitioner. Don graduated from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in 2004 with a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and has been practicing as a licensed acupuncturist in Maryland since that time.
Don lives in the Perry Hall area with his wife and two young children. Growing up in the area, his parents helped foster a keen interest in Nature and the Natural order of things such as seasonal changes. It felt like he was coming home when he discovered that Chinese Medicine, especially 5 element acupuncture, is based on healing principles garnered from careful observation of Nature. Don now utilizes this ancient healing wisdom to be in partnership with his clients as they experience their own personal healing. As a nurse, Don also has a clear grasp and appreciation of Western medical practice and is adept at integrating the benefits derived from each system to promote wellness through holistic care.
